With a full day out on the town or wandering through vineyards it may be easy to forget to eat, but not to worry! Some of the wineries have charcuterie, snacks or even full restaurants that can be integrated into the experience! On popular weekends many vineyards even host food trucks so the food options are vast and ever changing.
Some of the Winery Regions You Can Visit
Asheville Wineries
There are not many wineries inside the city of Asheville, but there are a few that can be enjoyed: The Biltmore Estate, Pleb Urban Winery, Marked Tree Asheville, WALLS Wine Bar and Botanist and Barrel are the most popular. There are a number of quality bottle shops and tasting rooms as well. None of these have attached vineyards, but each offers a unique experience. All of them are great options if you want to experience the local wine scene, but don’t have the time to visit the vineyards outside the city.
Hendersonville Wineries
Located about 45 minutes South of Asheville are the Hendersonville wineries which are a cluster of 7 wineries in the newly formed Crest of the Blue Ridge AVA designation. These include Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, Burntshirt Vineyards, Sawyer Springs Vineyard, Stone Ashe Vineyards, Marked Tree Vineyard, Point Lookout Vineyards and Souther Williams Vineyard.
Tryon Wineries
A few minutes further South from the Hendersonville wineries is another cluster of great wineries to visit in the Tryon Foothills of North Carolina. This area has a rich history of grape production that dates back over 100 years and today is the home to four wineries: Parker-Binns Vineyard, Mountain Brook Vineyards, Russian Chapel-Hills Winery and Overmountain Vineyards.
Lake James Wineries
East of Asheville (about 50 minutes) are a few quality wineries in the Lake James region of North Carolina: Silver Fork Winery and South Creek Winery. Both of these wineries have attached vineyards and are beautiful places to visit.
